The opening of a new concert series: 'Music for an Autumn Evening!'
The programme commemorates the 100th anniversary of the death of Charles Hubert Parry (1848-1918)
with a performance of the 'Songs of Farewell', one of his finest works, sung by 8 fantastic professional singers
and directed by Daniel Collins.
The first of four concerts in September and October.

Series 1 Concert 2 The Comalli Consort:
The Comalli Consort, established early 2018, is an up and coming Historical Performance Ensemble focusing on
music of the Renaissance Period. Comprised of students from the Royal Academy of Music,
the ensemble won the Nancy Nuttall Early Music prize this year, showcasing a programme
including their arrangements of consort and madrigal repertoire by English and Italian composers.

Series 1 Concert 3 Dominika Fehér:
The ‘delightful’ (The Strad) Hungarian violinist, Dominika Fehér was born into a musical family,
and as such has learnt the piano, recorder, french horn, viola, folk and classical singing alongside
the violin. Upon completing her Masters degree with highest honours at the Liszt Academy in Budapest,
Dominika was awarded the Weingarten Scholarship to study at Birmingham Conservatoire, where she later
became a Junior Fellow.

Series 1 Concert 4 The Bloomsbury Quartet:
The final concert in MusicFor's first series, 'Music for an Autumn Evening'. Up-and-coming string quartet
The Bloomsbury Quartet perform music by Beethoven, Schubert and Britten. This evocative programme focuses
on music written around the time of war: Beethoven was living in Vienna at the time when Napoleon invaded,
and Britten went to Germany to perform to concentration camp survivors, writing his String Quartet no. 2 on his return.

Series 2 Concert 1 'Tis Nature's Voice':
The music of Henry Purcell and his contemporaries. The concert features two internationally renowned singers,
both members of The Sixteen, and a baroque ensemble comprised of young and talented musicians.
The programme will explore music by Henry Purcell and his contemporaries, and features John Blow's monumental work
'Ode on the Death of Mr. Henry Purcell'.

Series 2 Concert 2 Andrej Ivanovic - Organ:
'Wond'rous machine' - music for organ. Young and talented organist Andrej Ivanovic, current organ scholar at
St. Peter's College, Oxford, gives an organ recital on the 2 manual Bishop and Sons organ in Holy Trinity Church.
The organ was moved there from St. Andrew's, Southgate, after bomb damage in World War II destroyed the original
instrument.

Series 2 Concert 4 'JS Bach - Advent and Christmas cantatas':
Artistic Director Daniel Collins directs an orchestra and soloists, all recent graduates from music college,
in a performance of two of Bach's most exhilarating cantatas, 'Ich freue mich in dir', and 'Wachet Auf'.
All the performers are playing one-to-a-part, so this will be a wonderful evening of chamber music in the
intimate setting of Holy Trinity Church.'
The programme also contains two other works: Bach's uplifting motet 'Lobet den Herrn', and the first movement
of his 'Oboe Concerto in F major', played by fantastic oboist Zoe Cartlidge.
